Gourmet weekend in the South if France

France is renowned for its culinary and oenological culture: for the tradition of its Bordeaux wines, the refinement of the Burgundy, the exquisiteness of its Champagne, but, what about the South of France?

The region of Occitanie, is a leading region in "organic" wines with the largest production in the country. The savoir-faire of its people makes this area a unique, little known and diverse enclave, with varied gastronomic products and a mixture of tradition and modernity.

We  offer a complete immersion in this culture: tasting local products, being in direct contact with the producers, participating in culinary workshops and enjoying local animations that in most countries are only available to “connoisseurs”. After fifteen years of experience discovering the region we want to share our personal agenda, awakening the senses and offering a unique and unforgettable experience.

Day 1

Pick up in Barcelona direction France’s Occitanie region. On the edge of the Mediterranean sea we will take an aperitif where the oysters will be protagonists, accompanying them with wine from local producers.
We will continue the journey to the Corbières, driving through the landscapes of vineyards and garrigue.
Later we will take a season menu in a chef restaurant, pairing with local wines. In option menu in restaurant classified with a “étoile Michelin”.
Right away we will go to the charming house chosen as accommodation, with all the atmosphere of a French Maison de Maître of the early twentieth century. After an installation break, we will go to a vineyard state to share and taste with them the AOP (Appellation d’origine controlée) Corbières and AOP Corbières Cru Boutenac wines.
In the afternoon, we will participate in a "culinary workshop" with local products, mixing the savoir-faire and the creativity of an expert. Later in the evening we will enjoy these preparations making pairings with wines of the different AOP such as: Minervois, Malepère, Limoux! what a pleasure for the senses.

Day 2

In the morning we will visit the city of Limoux known as the capital of the "Blanquette, carnaval et la fête en Occitanie".
We will discover the secrets of one of the longest carnivals in the world, and we will have the opportunity to taste a “blanquette” and a “crémant” (2 sparkling wines) with the producer. Then we will enjoy the local atmosphere eating the typical "fricassé de Limoux" in an emblematic place of the city.
Right away we will move to the historic center of Carcassonne accompanied by a local guide, and we will walk through its “ruelles”, discovering its secrets, its corners and many stories are to be told.
At the end of the day we will have dinner with the hosts enjoying the magic of the ambient, the home cooking and sharing a tasting activity with the wines of the region.

Day 3

In the morning we will visit the Abbey of Fontfroide. It will be an interactive visit where we will admire the architecture, the gardens and the surroundings. Then we will go to Narbonne to have an apéritif in "Les Halles" and we will have a free time to appreciate the animation of the market day in the city.
A family of winegrowers will welcome us in their cellar to share the anecdotes of their activity and we will have tasting moments with some gastronomic products of the region.
In the afternoon, before returning to Barcelona, we will take a walk through the old salinas in the “étangs” watching the birds and the panorama of the fisherman’s little towns.
I offer a unique experience, the opportunity to share privileged moments in total immersion, with all the charm of the Occitanie region. There will be memories of magical moments, unforgettable flavors ... And we're sure you will have the desire to come back!

PRICE: 898 € per person (Taxes included / base group of 8 people)

The price includes:
Transfer round trip: Barcelona to Occitanie region.
All local trips, with 8 seats minibus tourism and private driver.
2 nights accommodation, breakfast included with local products.
1 oyster tasting appetizer from a local producer.
1 blanquette and crémant de Limoux tasting with the producer.
1 appetizer at Les Halles de Narbonne.
1 culinary workshop with tasting.
1 home made dinner.
2 meals in restaurant.
1 moment to share with the wine producer.
2 visits to AOP cellars
1 Guided tour of Carcassonne.

Supplement for a single room: € 80 per person for both nights.
Cancellation or repatriation insurance: € 36 per person.

Upon request we will inform you if the visit is accessible for people with reduced mobility.

We recommend wearing comfortable footwear and clothing suitable for the season.
Must present at the point of departure on time 5 minutes before the start time of the visit.

Maximum groups of 8 people. Minimum groups of 4 people, in that case we will calculate the price on demand.
Payment in advance with 30 days of the arrival date.
Reservations less than 7 days in advance, Non-refundable - advance payment.

Cancellation conditions for activities:
From registration up to 31 days before departure: € 30 administrative costs (non-refundable by insurance cancellation)
From 30 days to 15 days before departure: 50% cancellation fees.
From 14 days to 8 days before departure: 75% cancellation fees.
From 7 days to the day of departure: 100% cancellation fees.
